232- Sokcho Corée du Sud | Découvre avec moi les ponts et le marché
In this vlog, discover the city of Sokcho in South Korea with me. We'll explore the city streets and its two large bridges. We'll also visit the large market. THE CITY: This city of nearly 80,000 inhabitants is located between two lagoons, and incredibly, when the two Koreas were divided in 1945, it was in the North. Its border was only moved at the end of the Korean War. This is fortunate, as it lies at the foot of the Seoraksan mountain range and its national park, which is very popular and attracts many tourists. Long ago, in 57 BC, it was a small fishing village. Over the years, the village grew, as it was a strategic location during various naval wars. During the Korean War, it was known as a refuge for those fleeing the violence. And it was only Sokcho officially became a city on January 1, 1963. THE CITY CENTER: I had read while planning my trip that people only came here to visit Seoraksan Park, and indeed, there isn't much to see in the city itself. Despite its large infrastructure, skyscrapers, and numerous shops, there are surprisingly few people in the streets. However, the two bridges are worth crossing both day and night. The metal structures are superb (especially when viewed from below), and there are also beautiful views from almost everywhere. (The red bridge is called "Seorak Bridge," and the second is called "Geumgang Bridge.") Under the second bridge lies the Abai village, whose small houses contrast sharply with the skyscrapers opposite. You can also take a walk around the lake (which is actually an extension of the sea). You'll pass through two small parks: Cheongchohoyuwonji Park and Cheongchoho Hosugong-won Park. At the latter, there's a small pagoda at the end of a long pier, perfect for taking beautiful photos (its name is Cheongchojeong). THE MARKET: Sokcho Tourist Fish Market (Jungang Market): This is one of the city's main attractions. Established in 1954, it's one of the top 10 markets to visit in Korea. You can try some local specialties, such as: Ojingeo Sundae (squid sausage) Dakgangjeong (sweet and savory fried chicken) Hotteok (sweet donut with cinnamon and walnuts) [Traveled entirely on foot and using public transportation] [I'm speaking live on location] - - - - - - - - - - - CONTENTS: 00:00 - Introduction 00:18 - Bus Ride 00:33 - Arrival in Seoul 01:06 - Bus to Sokcho 03:13 - Arrival in Sokcho 03:26 - Hotel Search 04:00 - Crossing the First Bridge 05:08 - Crossing the Second Bridge 06:06 - The Streets at Night 06:40 - City Sightseeing the Next Day 07:31 - Arrival at the Market 08:20 - Market Visit 10:22 - The Fish Market 11:54 - Another Market 13:51 - Leaving the Market 14:31 - Crossing the Two Bridges 16:03 - Return to the City Center 17:35 - Excerpts from the Next Vlog - - - - - - - - - - - : 🎵→ Music and video effects: Envato Elements (€14.50/month) here: https://1.envato.market/Ea9Bkn → Filmed with a DJI Osmo Pocket camera available here: https://amzn.to/36xRSj5 or here: https://amzn.to/3hzdQIF - - - - - - - - - - - FOLLOW AND SUPPORT ME: ▶ To subscribe to my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/JeremieBald... ▶ My Instagram: / jeremie.voyages ▶ My blog: https://www.jeremiebaldocchiblog.com ★ If you like my channel, feel free to support me here: https://fr.tipeee.com/jeremie-baldocchi
