Nickel is classified as a "world-class critical mineral," essential for both traditional infrastructure (stainless steel) and the new energy frontier (high-performance lithium-ion batteries, in high-density batteries (NMC - Nickel, Manganese, Cobalt)). Nickel recovery routes via battery recycling and industrial waste have already proven economically viable.
