The new Peugeot 3008 is a completely redesigned vehicle compared to its previous generation. It features a new EMP2 platform architecture that has improved the weight/dimensions ratio. The 3008 has grown 8 cm in wheelbase, and now the trunk, with 520 liters (20 more than the previous generation), has the lowest cargo floor in the category. The engine is the already known 1.6-liter – 16-valve THP gasoline engine, with turbo and direct fuel injection. This engine develops 165 horsepower and 24.5 kgfm of torque from 1,400 rpm. The gearbox is a six-speed automatic with the option of sequential gear changes. The interior features the i-Cockpit 2.0, an evolution of the concept already seen in the 208 and 2008, in which the steering wheel has a reduced diameter, and the instrument panel is prominent, giving a greater sense of sportiness. In fact, the instrument panel is now a 12.3-inch screen that can be customized with different types of information (similar to the virtual dashboard found in some Audi cars). The touch-screen multimedia center is 8 inches and integrates with smartphones on the Android Auto and Mirrorlink platforms (for Android devices) and Apple CarPlay for iPhones.
