🚨 Ghana's Historic Freight Train Nears Launch | Expressway Project Hits 89.5 km (50.9%)
🚨Ghana's transport infrastructure is making significant progress with major developments in both the railway and road sectors. The country's newly acquired freight locomotive has now been coupled to freight wagons, bringing Ghana one step closer to launching its maiden freight train service. The project is expected to improve cargo transportation, reduce pressure on roads, and strengthen the country's logistics network. Meanwhile, Joseph Bukari Nikpe has responded to concerns raised by the New Patriotic Party regarding the acquisition of the locomotives. The NPP has called for full disclosure on the locomotives' age, condition, cost, and long-term value, while the Minister says the concerns are intended to generate unnecessary debate. In another major infrastructure update, work on the Accra–Kumasi Expressway Corridor continues to advance rapidly. According to the latest progress report: 🚧 89.5 km (50.9%) of the corridor had been cleared as of 25 June 2026. ⏱️ This milestone was achieved in just 9 weeks, representing about 45% of the estimated project timeline. 🛣️ The remaining 86.1 km is expected to be completed over the next 13 weeks. These projects form part of broader efforts to modernize Ghana's transport network, improve trade, and support economic growth. Naked Truth on Oldboga Trends with Maxi Billian
