TRAIL AND SEA! Today we visited the Orihuela coast: La Zenia and Cabo Roig. Two residential developments belonging to the municipality of Orihuela, in the south of the province of Alicante, Spain. Orihuela Costa belongs to the Vega Baja del Segura region, bordering Torrevieja to the north and Torre de la Horadada to the south. It is located about 35 kilometers from the city of Orihuela, despite being within the same municipality. Orihuela Costa is characterized as one of the main second-home destinations on the entire Costa Blanca. It is an urban area almost entirely composed of large residential developments where people from central and northern Europe have settled. La Zenia and Cabo Roig are two coastal developments located on the Costa Blanca, in the south of the province of Alicante, within the municipality of Orihuela Costa. Both areas are very popular with tourists and foreign residents, especially British, German, and Scandinavian. La Zenia Location: Located between Playa Flamenca and Cabo Roig. Beaches: La Zenia Beach is one of the best known, with fine sand and clean waters, very popular in summer. Amenities: La Zenia Boulevard Shopping Centre, one of the largest in the province. A wide variety of bars, restaurants, supermarkets, and medical centers. Transportation: Well connected by road (N-332 and AP-7) and easily accessible from Alicante and Murcia airports. Atmosphere: Family-friendly and tourist-oriented, ideal for holidays or second homes. Cabo Roig Location: South of La Zenia, next to Campoamor. Beaches: Cala Capitán and Cabo Roig Beach, both Blue Flag beaches. Marina: It has a marina with water sports and beachfront restaurants. Seafront promenade: With spectacular views and routes for walking or cycling. Atmosphere: A bit more exclusive, with high-end properties and a well-established international community.
