An old town sign with traditional wooden joints and classic woodworking techniques. Some of the rotten beams are being replaced and re-mortised. The new supports have been given a rope-cut woodwork decoration, sawn by hand with a frame saw. The work is reminiscent of the restoration of an old half-timbered structure – with a keen sense of materials, historical construction methods, and traditional craftsmanship. This technique is still used today in carpentry and joinery – ideal for the renovation of old buildings, restoration, and traditional construction. Thanks for watching.
