Tilo Fritz is a master carpenter and his specialty is Rhine-Hessian farmyard gates. They have tradition in this corner of the country and are still in demand today. The gates are not only visually reminiscent of earlier times, Tilo Fritz also pays attention to traditional construction methods in their manufacture. Without machines, however, he does not get far with the gate colossus, which measures almost four by four meters. Instead, he still makes the tongue and groove boards himself and taps the frame joints in the traditional way. With a lot of patience, the carpenter saws and grinds, planes and plugs, glues and screws together piece by piece - until finally both gate wings are erected to their full size and installed. For Tilo Fritz, this is always the most beautiful moment of his craftsmanship.
