Card 1: The Magician — Agency

With Card 1, The Magician, we move from the endless, formless, infinite possibilities of The Fool into a specific personality/body-mind structure, who has the ability to DO things -- to think, to speak, to act. We face our agency, and our most powerful -- and magical -- tool of all: our brain. The power to make choices, to set intentions, to make a plan, and to take the physical actions (even one small one) that are the steps of our journey -- All of these are the Magician! But be careful - because the Magician is also a trickster, and it takes awareness to play with him, and the powerful sense of self that he creates. Taking one small action, making a plan, setting an intention or affirmation are all positive "first steps" that we can take as we move through The Magician.
