SLOVENIA EUROVISION 2023 - REACTING TO JOKER OUT ‘CARPE DIEM’ (FIRST LISTEN)

Hi guys, and welcome back to my channel! If you’re new here, my name’s Rachel and I’m a huge Eurovision fan as well as a musician. In today’s video, I listened to Slovenia’s entry for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, ‘Carpe DIEM’ by Joker Out. What stood out for me the most about this song, was the eclectic use of the guitars. Different timbres and different purposes to provide filler, countermelodies in a really clever way. The backing vocals were also a nice touch, giving the song a bit more imagination and depth. The disco beat and infectious high hat drum pattern also propelled the song forward and kept a really nice energy going. Overall, this was a great entry. Catchy, experimental and unpredictable in places. So good.
