Kato Zakros is a pretty seaside town in Eastern Crete, with a lovely gorge, a cliffside cave with stalactites and stalagmites and a Minoan ruin. There's heaps to do here including swimming and snorkelling, walking or exploring the Minoan palace originally built in 1900 BC.
