Série Panos de Prato: Técnica Four Patch de Patchwork (Ep. 04)

In this fourth episode of our Dishcloth Series, I'll teach you how to create an amazing border using the Four Patch patchwork technique. It's a classic, versatile technique that greatly enhances your work, whether for decorating your kitchen or for selling! I'll show you the entire step-by-step process, from cutting the squares to the perfect finish on the dishcloth. Leave a comment telling me what you thought, and if you have any questions, just ask! Project Description: Attention: The seam allowance for this project is 0.5 cm. If you wish to use a 0.75 cm seam allowance, then cut the strips to 6.5 cm. It is important that the stitching is linear from beginning to end at the joining of the strips for a better result of the technique. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CUTTING PLAN FOR USE WITH RULER AND CUTTER. 1 strip of fabric 6 cm wide in a neutral color. 1 strip of fabric 6 cm wide in red. 1 strip of fabric 6 cm wide in green. Sew the neutral strips together with the red strips and the neutral strips together with the green strips. Turn the seams to the dark side, iron, and cut 10 cells 6 cm wide. This will form 5 blocks of four patches as shown at the beginning of the video. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ FINISHING STRIP. 1 strip the length of the hem, 6 cm wide, fold in half and iron. This strip is for finishing the top of the hem. 1 strip the length of the hem, 5 cm wide. Sew open to finish the bottom of the hem as shown in the video. 1 piece of burlap fabric. Polyester thread. Grilon invisible thread is optional for finishing the hem. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CUTTING PLAN WITH SCISSORS AND PATTERN. Attention: The seam allowance for this project is 0.5 cm. If you wish to use a 0.75 cm seam allowance, then cut 6.5 x 6.5 cm squares. It is important that the stitching is linear from beginning to end at the junction of the squares for a better result of the technique. Various fabrics using your creativity and reusing your scraps of fabric. Have fun! 5 squares of 6.0 x 6.0 cm in red. 5 squares of 6.0 x 6.0 cm in green fabric. 10 squares of 6.0 x 6.0 cm in neutral fabric. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FINISHING STRIP FOR THE BORDER. 1 strip the length of the border, 6 cm wide, fold in half and iron. This strip is for the top finish of the hem. 1 strip the length of the border, 5 cm wide. Sew open to finish the bottom of the border as shown in the video. 1 piece of burlap fabric.
