This flight was a massive test of my manual flying psychology. After struggling with the dynamic camera motion in my previous flight, I decided to tune down the ChasePlane effects for better visual references. No more excuses this time! However, as we broke through the cloudy skies over Washington onto the ILS Runway 19C, a familiar fear crept into the cockpit. The Airbus A340-600 is notoriously long, and I was so deeply afraid of over-flaring and causing the aircraft to balloon up that I held back on the stick too much. I definitely needed a firmer pull to catch that sweet "Butter Landing" sweet spot. Even though it wasn't my softest touchdown, the incredible smoothness of MSFS 2024 running on Ultra Settings with my RTX 5080, combined with the professional feel of the WINCTRL setup, made this approach an absolute joy. Flightbeam's KIAD scenery looked flawless as we taxied to the gate. I'm still learning the exact muscle memory for this heavy beast, but that's what high-fidelity simulation is all about.
