Zomertour 2026 | Dag 5: De nieuwe overlaadwagen van Speelman

The fifth day of the Summer Tour gets off to a good start when Erwin van Boven starts his New Holland T7070 in Erica (Dr.). Together with his cousin Mark van Boven, he purchased the tractor for tractor pulling. After a hearty breakfast, the editorial duo continues the Summer Tour with a visit to Zinger Mechanisatie in Borger (Dr.). The company has been producing crash mats since this year. Next, the Summer Tour heads further north to Alteveer (Gr.). In the Groningen village, Gerard Speelman builds beet harvesters. These were previously produced by Agrifac, but Speelman took over the manufacturer's license and now builds the OptiTraxx and LightTraxx harvesters himself. In addition, he recently developed an updated transfer trailer. Afterwards, the editors drive on to the grounds of the Vlagtwedde Agricultural Fair to take a look around. Fair organizer Bert-Jan de Groot also runs an arable farm in Sellingen (Gr.) and invites the editors to spend the night in his new warehouse. Editors Jasper Lentz and Chris Vlaanderen are embarking on a world tour through the Netherlands in a Valtra S346 during the LandbouwMechanisatie Summer Tour. In six days, they will drive from America in Limburg to Poland in Groningen. During the six-day trip, the editors will visit arable farmers, contractors, machinery manufacturers, importers, and dealers. The duo will spend the nights in a tent suspended on a frame attached to the tractor's three-point hitch. The goal of the road trip is to gather as many fun and interesting stories as possible for the trade magazine LandbouwMechanisatie. Want to read all the Summer Tour stories?
