A report that exposed the Kerala film industry | BBC News India

A government report in Kerala that was released in August, detailed the dire and abusive work conditions in which women of the state’s Malayalam film industry must work in. The report- called the Hema Committee Report- spoke of rampant sexual and verbal abuse, lack of basic facilities like toilets, and ostracization for those speaking out. The BBC’s Ishadrita Lahiri and Bimal Thankachan travelled to Kerala’s Kochi to speak to women working in the industry and document the aftermath of the report’s release.
