Bahnverkehr in Neukloster(Kr Stade) mit Br 249, Br 246 + Dostos, Hamburger S-Bahn und Güterzügen

Neukloster is a district of Buxtehude with 1,800 inhabitants and a stop on the Niederelbebahn. For the extension of the Hamburg S-Bahn to Stade in 2007, the two platforms were rebuilt to a height of 76 cm and a length of 140 m. Since the S-Bahn trains have an entry height of 1 m, there is a step to negotiate. Previously, the platforms were approximately at track level. On the north side of the station is a large park-and-ride lot. Covered bicycle racks are available on both sides. The street "Am Güterbahnhof," which runs parallel to the railway line, is the former loading street of Neukloster. The signal box, which was decommissioned between 1986 and 1987, was located in the brick building at the level crossing. From the opening of the S-Bahn in 2007 until December 2023, the S3 line provided a direct connection to Hamburg city center. Since the reorganization of the S-Bahn network in December 2023, Neukloster is served by the new S5 line, which from Hamburg Central Station no longer runs through the City Tunnel but via the connecting line. The S3 now only operates at night with a few services to Stade.
