Breaking News! The Anti-Gang and Organized Crime Police Directorate (DIPAMPCO) has dealt a major blow to the criminal organization known as the "Devil's Cartel" in the department of Yoro. In a lightning operation in the La Esperanza neighborhood of the municipality of Yorito, elite teams captured two key members of this organization that had been terrorizing rural areas in the north of the country. Details of those captured: Ruth Dalila Martínez Maya (27 years old), alias "La Nena": Identified as the alleged financial administrator of the criminal organization. Leonel Mejía Cruz (31 years old), alias "El Chicho": Responsible for collecting money from illicit activities and with a criminal record for drug trafficking. Evidence seized by DIPAMPCO: During the arrest, authorities seized cash (alleged extortion proceeds), firearms, suspected cocaine, cell phones, and bank account books linking the detainees to the gang's finances. This criminal group maintained a strong presence in the municipalities of Sulaco and Yorito, where they are believed to be responsible for various violent incidents in recent months.
