Quality healthcare. The potential risks of hemotherapy services, which deal with the blood transfusion cycle, have decreased in Brazil. This is shown in the preliminary report of the 2012 Annual Sanitary Evaluation of Hemotherapy Services from the National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA). But Brazil has been waiting for almost a decade for the regulation of the ordinance that mandates nucleic acid testing, known as NAT, which ensures greater safety in transfusions, in both public and private healthcare networks.
