Boxing Day at the CBS. Cold weather, big crowd, and Coventry grinding out another proper Championship win. This time it’s Swansea coming to town — a side we’ve had plenty of tense battles with over the years. Funny twist though: today's Sky Blue captain Matt Grimes used to wear the Swansea armband. Football’s small world, isn’t it? Me and Charlie dragged Sophie and Phoebe along for the festive fixture. Sophie celebrated her return to matchdays with her first drink in years and immediately got into the spirit… probably more than we did at points. Pre-match we hit the Fan Village and bumped into Shane Cole and his lad Archie — great pair, proper Coventry. Got their score predictions in before heading inside. Cov started strong and were well on top first half… although we managed to miss the only goal of the game because we all nipped off for a toilet break at the same time. Ephron Mason-Clark scores, all four of us are looking at hand dryers. Standard. Still, Coventry saw out the 1–0, another disciplined performance, another clean sheet, and another reminder why these tight wins matter if you want to finish top. We roll into the new year 8 points clear of Middlesbrough. Not bad for a club that’s spent half its history apologising for being inconvenienced.
