Comprehensive Health Check in Taiwan – Process, Cost & Results

Many travelers and retirees consider getting medical care abroad, but what is the process actually like? In this video I share my experience getting a comprehensive health check in Taipei, Taiwan at Cathay General Hospital Health Management Center. I walk through the entire process—from booking the appointment to receiving the results—including what the testing day looked like and what additional testing was recommended afterward. I also compare the cost of a comprehensive health check in Taiwan with what similar testing might cost elsewhere. This includes approximate pricing for comparable exams in Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur, as well as what many of these tests may cost in the United States—even if you have insurance. I also discuss what a typical executive health checkup might cost in countries like the U.S., the UK, and Canada. Beyond the financial side, I also talk about some of the practical differences in the healthcare systems. For example, in many countries you may need to schedule multiple appointments, visit several different facilities, and spread testing out over several days to complete the same screenings that can sometimes be done in a single visit at a comprehensive health center.
