We Flew to PE for an Engine-Damaged Auction i20… Then Drove It 1000KM Home

In this video, we take on one of our riskiest car projects yet. We bought an engine-damaged Hyundai i20 from auction and flew all the way to Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape to rebuild it. The mission was simple but stressful: get the car fixed in less than 24 hours and drive it back to Johannesburg. The full project cost us around R100 000, including a R30 000 new engine. After the rebuild, we had to put the car to the real test — a 1000km drive from Port Elizabeth to Joburg. Was buying an engine-damaged auction car a good idea? Did the Hyundai i20 survive the long trip? And was the R100K project worth it? Watch the full journey from auction buy, engine damage, rebuild, and the 1000km drive home.
