ÖRR-Blog: ARD und ZDF können nicht mal mehr Fußball

A rare guest – Jonas Müller from the public broadcasting blog is giving us his first on-camera interview, even though he considers journalism a "scorched earth" and sees himself as an activist. He explains why, as a high school student in 2020, he and a few friends began to carefully and critically analyze public broadcasting programs, thus laying the foundation for one of the most influential media-critical voices in Germany. Müller identifies deep, structural problems within public broadcasting – from a lack of accountability for journalistic errors and biased reporting to the question of what a reformed public service broadcasting system could look like. Unlike many of his followers, Müller is not in favor of a complete abolition. He advocates for a more affordable basic package with optional add-on packages.
