KENSHŌ (見性) — Seeing Through the Veil — Second entry in the Zen Series 見性 literally means "seeing one's nature." In Zen practice, Kenshō refers to a sudden moment of insight — not a long-earned realization, but a flash of clarity in which the usual filters of thought, identity, and assumption drop away. For a breath, reality is perceived without distortion. The teachings describe it as glimpsing the floor of the lake when the surface stops moving. It is rarely dramatic. More often it arrives as a quiet shift, a recognition that something obvious has been hiding in plain sight the entire time. — On this volume — Where MU was a slow exhale, Kenshō is the held breath right before a small door opens. The composition stays minimal, but with more interior movement — gentle koto figures that appear and dissolve, soft chime impacts that ring out into long silences, occasional shifts in the harmonic floor that change the room without announcing themselves.
