A man named Mrunal Krishna Das walked into the Saket Police Station in India's capital, Delhi, to file a missing persons report for his daughter, Moumita Das, and her friend, Avijit Paul. The police learned that the two friends had been missing for the past six days since they had traveled to Dehradun, a city in the state of Uttarakhand. Upon discovering that they had been gone for so long, the Saket police immediately sprang into action. Their first step was to obtain the call records of Moumita Das and Avijit Paul. After a few hours of investigation, the police found that Avijit had repeatedly called a certain number on October 23, 2014, and that his last call had also been made to the same number. We say "last call" because, since October 23, both Moumita and Avijit's cell phones had been switched off. Without wasting any time, the police traced the details of this number. They discovered that it was registered under the name of a man named Raju Das. The police then tried calling Raju Das, only to find that his phone was also switched off.
