I Built One Good Trimmer Out of Two Broken Ones

In this video, I work on a Shindaiwa trimmer that wouldn’t run. After getting the engine running, I found another problem hiding underneath. The driveshaft and clutch drum were worn out and no longer transferring power the way they should. Instead of ordering new parts, I went digging through the junk pile and found an Echo SRM-225 with the parts I needed. By borrowing a few components from the Echo, I was able to put everything back together and turn two non-working trimmers into one good machine. Sometimes the repair isn’t about replacing parts. It’s about knowing what parts will work and where to find them.
