TRIBUN-VIDEO.COM - The North Central Timor (TTU) Regency Branch Leadership Council (DPC) of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) has officially temporarily suspended Veronika Lake from her position as a member of the TTU Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) and from the party's leadership. This step was taken following Veronika's alleged involvement in the intimidation case against the late Dr. Eliza Princila Utami Pakaenoni (Doctor Icha). The decision was announced during a press conference at the PDIP TTU DPC Secretariat, attended by Deputy Chairperson for Honorary Affairs Carolus Sonbay, Secretary Habel Manu Nufa, and Treasurer Andina Winantuningtias, on Tuesday (June 30, 2026). Carolus emphasized that PDIP expresses its condolences for the passing of Doctor Icha and condemns all forms of intimidation against healthcare workers. The TTU PDIP branch confirmed that Veronika Lake has been temporarily suspended from all political and party activities. She has been asked to focus on undergoing investigations at the TTU Police and the TTU Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) Ethics Council. Carolus added that this suspension represents the party's moral responsibility to maintain organizational integrity. The TTU PDIP branch has also summoned Veronika for clarification. According to Carolus, this is important to prevent the public from speculating that the party is protecting acts of intimidation against medical personnel. The PDIP emphasized that it will not provide protection if any of its members are found guilty. The party fully supports the ongoing legal and ethical process.
