TRIBUN-TIMUR.COM - The death of Dr. Eliza Princila Utami Pakaenoni, also known as Dr. Icha, a doctor working at Leona Hospital in Kefamenanu, North Central Timor Regency (TTU), East Nusa Tenggara, has attracted public attention. This is especially true after allegations surfaced that the deceased had experienced intimidation, allegedly involving a member of the North Central Timor Regency Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD). Regent Yosep Falentinus Delasalle Kebo explained that the incident began when Dr. Icha was treating a snakebite patient in the Emergency Room (ER). At the time, Dr. Icha was on duty outside of her regular shift. The patient was identified as a family member of the TTU DPRD. Dr. Icha followed standard operating procedures during her treatment. Based on the examination, the patient's condition did not yet meet the indications for immediate administration of an antivenom injection. However, the situation in the emergency room turned tense as the patient's family panicked and demanded an immediate antivenom injection. This pressure was allegedly accompanied by intimidation and demeaning remarks toward Dr. Icha. The TTU Regency Government assessed that the incident had a serious impact on Dr. Icha's psychological condition. After the incident, the deceased suffered trauma and eventually received support and was directed to undergo a psychological examination at the hospital. Despite these treatment efforts, Dr. Icha's psychological condition continued to deteriorate. On Friday, June 26, 2026, she was found dead at her residence.
