Tesla Full Self Driving (FSD) 14.3.3 Auckland: To Beachlands, Botany Mall and Back
A drive through some semi-rural roads to Beachlands in Auckland and back via a mall parking lot. A lot more confident and speedy. But there were still issues with it missing speed signs, and issues with it not looking at the indicators of cars in a roundabout. Specifically, it never stops for cars turning right in a roundabout that will cross our path because it doesn't look at the indicator. 00:00 01:08 First intervention due to it not knowing the correct speed limit (using old map data). Forced to drive manually for a while due to no speed offset setting. 02:01 Brake stabbing 02:25 Second intervention due to not reading the speed sign. Forced to drive manually for a while due to no speed offset setting. 02:51 Read the next speed sign, but standard mode won't hold the speed limit. Switched to hurry mode temporarily, and it held the speed limit. 03:28 Uncomfortable hard braking. Approaches roundabout too quickly, and has to hard brake for car coming on our right. 04:11 Third intervention for not reading a speed sign. Forced to drive manually for a while due to no speed offset setting. 05:03 Moves into a slow vehicle pull over lane when it shouldn't as we're doing the speed limit and no one is tailgating. 06:11 Fourth intervention: Wants to pull out of area the wrong way 06:40 Fifth intervention: Doesn't give way to the vehicle already in the roundabout that is turning right from our opposite. 07:31 Pulls over for police in the oncoming lane who are actively overtaking vehicles on a narrow double yellow stretch. 08:00 Nicely uses the passing lane to overtake slow vehicles 08:37 Forgot to mention in the commentary, but here I set the mode to Chill as we enter an average speed camera zone. It holds the speed nicely at a near fixed 59k's. 09:14 I could see both vehicles to my right indicating to go left. The car could have gone immediately instead of waiting for both to turn. 09:50 Sixth intervention: Turns into a right turn only lane when we are going straight. It was not slowing down and was going to go straight through via the right turning lane, so I take the right turn manually and pull into the mall via a different entrance. 10:13 A little awkward as it waits for a van to pull out, but we really should have just taken the right of way and gone through. 10:55 Parking was set to carpark, but it parks on the side of the road in a taxi stand. 11:30 When pulling out from a park, it waits for person on the side of the car with door open. It still needs a tiny accelerator tap to get going though after she closes the door. 13:06 Hard braking for clothes on the road. Did not brake for these clothes in the night last night, but during the day it sees them and avoids.
