Make Thanksgiving easy this year with these 6 classic sides that can all be prepped ahead—because you should be more worried about eating than cooking on the big day! Here’s a suggested 4-day gameplan (but some of these components can be made further in advance): MONDAY -Make cranberry sauce (without the pomegranate seeds), refrigerate -Make jus (without the ham and herbs), refrigerate -Make croutons for the stuffing. Keep in an airtight container at room temperature -Wash all the herbs for turkey, stuffing, and jus. Wrap in a moist towel and store in your crisper drawer. TUESDAY -Mix biscuits, press into pan, wrap and refrigerate -Fry sage for stuffing. Keep in an airtight container at room temperature -Cook aromatic base for stuffing, refrigerate -Make Green Bean Casserole (without baking/broiling), refrigerate WEDNESDAY -Make mashed potatoes, refrigerate -Clean & cut radishes, wrap in a moist towel, refrigerate -Cut peel from citrus, place in an airtight container, refrigerate -Clean seeds from a pomegranate (for finishing cranberry sauce), refrigerate -Pull out all you plates/platters/serving utensils and set the table ON THANKSGIVING While the turkey cooks: -Finish & plate cranberry sauce -Chop herbs & ham for jus -Slice oranges and arrange salad. Chill in the fridge covered with a moist towel (undressed) -Remove green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, and stuffing aromatics from fridge 1 hour before the turkey is done to come to room temperature While the turkey rests: -Heat the oven to 475F and bake the biscuits, about 30 minutes Meanwhile -Mix croutons, aromatics, and moisture for stuffing.
