Why a Special Interest is more than a hobby

You've probably heard the terms Special Interest and Hyperfixation, but what does loving an activity or idea REALLY mean to a neurodivergent person? Well I'm only one person, so I can only give you my opinion, but the the words "load bearing structure of my personality" come to mind. What happens when a hyperfixations dies? Can you have more than one special interest? What's with all the pastels?! All this and more inside.
