Inspection of the Dao Building and Henry Sy Sr. Hall at San Francisco High School 6/10/2026
Bago Bantay, Quezon City June 10, 2026 “Malaking bagay ito dahil nais kong ipakita kapag ang pera ng gobyerno ay ginagamit sa tama, ito ‘yung kaya nating gawin. Kaya natin magtayo ng four storeys, 60 classrooms in eight months’ time,” said President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in a media statement following his inspection of the two (2) newly completed school buildings at San Francisco High School in Quezon City. President Marcos Jr. expressed satisfaction with the project's swift completion, which was finished in just eight (8) months. Constructed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), the former two-storey Dao Building, which was gutted by a catastrophic fire on 15 June 2025, has been rebuilt as a four-storey, 36-classroom facility — a significant improvement over its previous 10 classrooms. It now features nine (9) classrooms per floor; three (3) accessibility ramps on the ground floor; 16 comfort rooms, with two (2) male and two (2) female CRs per floor; a non-skid hallway; non-slip tiled classroom floors; ceiling fans; and newly installed fire alarms and sprinkler systems. Meanwhile, the newly completed Henry Sy Sr. Hall is a four-storey, 2,700-square-meter school building funded by SM Supermalls. This facility replaces the school's previously unused and dilapidated Narra Building, maximizing campus space by adding a total of 24 classrooms or six (6) classrooms per floor. With a total of 60 new classrooms, students and teachers no longer need to follow double-shift schedules. Classes can now be held on a regular schedule, allowing students to go home earlier in the afternoon. The new buildings also provide a better learning environment, with more space and a more manageable schedule for learners. “Basta't pumasok sa proyekto nang tama, ay ganito ang ating nagagawa. Patuloy nating gagawin ‘yan at patuloy natin titiyakin na ang pondo ng pamahalaan ay napupunta sa mga proyektong kagaya nito,” the President said. The DPWH and the Department of Education (DepEd) plan to replicate similar projects in other areas to help address the country’s classroom shortage. * * Connect with RTVM Website: http://rtvm.gov.ph Facebook: www.facebook.com/presidentialcom and www.facebook.com/rtvmalacanang YouTube: @RTVMalacanang Tiktok: @RTVMalacanang
