Speaking of Nishi-Akashi, apart from the "Nozomi" trains that stop there in the early morning and late night hours, the only trains that stop there are the "Kodama" and "Hikari." While the Sanyo-Kyushu Direct Shinkansen "Sakura" special trains occasionally stop there, the "Mizuho" and "Sakura" trains generally pass through. Due to various circumstances, a timetable change has resulted in only one regular Sakura train stopping at Nishi-Akashi for the first time! Real-time updates on my travels!
