The Nozomi train is known for its ultra-high frequency and incredibly fast speeds. In fact, only one train per day stops at Nishi-Akashi Station, and the Nozomi is the only train on the Sanyo Shinkansen line that departs from Nishi-Akashi Station. After Nishi-Akashi Station, the Nozomi makes standard stops at three consecutive stations: Shin-Kobe, Shin-Osaka, and Kyoto. This means the Nozomi stops at four consecutive stations from the first train, essentially making it a local train. All Nozomi trains during the New Year holidays will be reserved seats. Unlike reserved seats on Tohoku and Hokuriku Shinkansen lines, you can board with a non-reserved seat ticket, but standing is only permitted on the deck.
