The Story of Joseph | Genesis 37-50

The story of Joseph is a roller coaster of ups and downs. Joseph was his father’s favorite, and he gave Joseph a beautiful coat of many colors, but his brothers hated him and sold him into salvery. Joseph was a slave in Egypt, but he had a lot of success in his master’s home. That is, until he was thrown in prison for something he didn’t do. Eventually, Joseph pretty much ran the prison, and God helped him interpret the dreams of some fellow prisoners, one of whom said he would tell Pharaoh about him. But that man forgot about Joseph for two years. God used all of this to put Joseph in the perfect position to save his family. Joseph interpreted Pharaoh’s dreams and was hired as second in command of all Egypt. He helped the Egyptians to save up food before a terrible famine, one that would have killed his family and countless others if Joseph hadn’t been there. What his brothers meant for evil, God meant for good. Even when life seems hopeless or unfair, God has a good plan for your life.
