The Santa Rosa Bridge project reached a new milestone with the start of deep foundation work to support the bridge's main structure, a key stage in the construction of the future definitive access road to the new Jorge Chávez International Airport. The project includes the construction of 32 reinforced concrete piles, up to 24 meters deep, which will serve as the base for the bridge abutments, guaranteeing its stability and strength. A BAUER BG 28 hydraulic drilling rig, high-tech equipment designed for complex and technically demanding projects, is being used for this work. During the site visit, the Minister of Transport and Communications (MTC) stated that "such a large investment as the new airport will finally culminate with its definitive access roads, as is appropriate and deserved." He also reaffirmed the sector's commitment to the timely execution of an infrastructure project that will transform mobility in the country's main port and improve the experience for millions of passengers who will use the new airport. The Santa Rosa Bridge is part of a modern road interchange that also includes a 65-meter-long bridge, new access roads, an overpass on Morales Duárez Avenue, riverbank protection works along the Rímac River, and urban landscaping. This set of improvements will optimize traffic flow to the airport, alleviate congestion on access roads to Callao, and strengthen integration with the main routes of Metropolitan Lima.
