【食べめぐ#182 こういうの食べてみたかった、っていうヤツ】茨城県土浦市　ラーメン幸楽【資本主義経済の限界を語りながら市街地裏通りを歩いて来店】

This is the 182nd installment of our series, and this time we're featuring Ramen Koraku, located in Tsuchiura City, Ibaraki Prefecture, about a 15-minute walk from the west exit of Tsuchiura Station on the Joban Line, in an area lined with temples and private hospitals in a castle town. Unusually for this channel, we're featuring a restaurant that just opened in the spring of 2026. The restaurant itself is a bit difficult to recognize unless you have the exterior in mind beforehand, but it looks like it was built in the 1950s, with a corrugated iron exterior and rusty enamel signs for Sprite and other products. It appears to be a former grocery store that has been renovated into a restaurant. I'm quite impressed that they found such a property. There's also a red Meiji Seika beverage vending machine and a Coca-Cola display case, although they're not in operation. (5-23 Otemachi, Tsuchiura City, Ibaraki Prefecture) As for the menu, the ramen menu consists only of ramen and char siu ramen, which is a rather bold selection for today's times. This seems to be a consideration for pricing and the size of the restaurant. They have several side dishes, including not only pan-fried dumplings but also meatballs and even Peking duck. The meat for the pan-fried dumplings is apparently Rose Pork, a brand of pork that Ibaraki Prefecture is proud of, suggesting they don't compromise on ingredients. Furthermore, they don't use any chemical seasonings, which are now essential for flavoring ramen. While I've heard that using them makes the ramen tastier, they apparently don't use any at all in order to create their ideal flavor. This seems to have been quite challenging. The seating is counter-only, accommodating about five people, making it seem like a restaurant for intermediate to advanced diners. It's a bit far from the station and areas with many restaurants, and the lack of parking is probably a challenge, but I'll be quietly cheering them on, hoping that this flavor will be supported by many people.
