Americans Are Leaving in Record Numbers. Many Come Back for the Reasons They Left.

Interest in leaving the US is at an all-time high—but a surprising number of people who move abroad end up moving back within a few years. I've been talking to people who made the move and digging into why some stay and thrive while others return home. I moved from the US to the Netherlands four months ago, so I'm not claiming to be an expert—I'm in it right now, fascinated by what actually makes this work and what sends people back. In this video I walk through the six things I keep seeing make the difference: money, language, kids and schools, healthcare, building a social circle, and the big one—whether you're really willing to commit, or living with one foot still in America. This isn't a "everyone should leave" video. Not everyone's prepared, and that's worth being honest about. It's for anyone seriously thinking about it who wants the real picture, not the highlight reel. Medium article:   / i-tracked-1-247-americans-who-moved-to-por...
