Cycled Across Barbados to Reach This Historic Lighthouse

Could this be one of the most scenic cycling routes in Barbados? 🇧🇧🚴‍♂️ In this episode, we set off from Porters in St. James and head north towards one of Barbados' most iconic landmarks — Harrison's Point Lighthouse in St. Lucy. What starts as a peaceful coastal ride quickly turns into an adventure filled with changing landscapes, rolling roads, ocean views, local communities, and some of the most beautiful scenery the island has to offer. As we make our way up the west coast, we pass luxury villas, quiet beaches, local neighbourhoods, fishing communities, and some of the most breathtaking ocean views on the island. The further north we travel, the more rugged and dramatic the coastline becomes. Our destination is Harrison's Point Lighthouse, built in 1925 and standing proudly on the island's northwestern cliffs. For decades, its beacon helped guide ships safely around Barbados' coastline. Today, it remains one of the island's most recognisable landmarks and offers incredible views across the Atlantic Ocean. The journey itself is a reminder of why cycling is one of the best ways to explore Barbados. You experience the island at a slower pace, notice details you would otherwise miss, and get to see the real Barbados beyond the resorts and tourist attractions.
