Ludlow Street Blues, 5 Years Later (June 5, 2026)

Just over 2 weeks ago, on the day of game 2 of the NBA Finals and with New York City absolutely electric over the Knicks' dominant (and eventually successful) championship run, I visited my home neighborhood Metro-North station, Ludlow. Located in my hometown of Yonkers, just north of the Bronx, almost at the foot of Ludlow Street where it meets the Hudson River, and various industrial businesses in the area, Ludlow is a quiet local stop that is mainly served by electric trains to and from Croton-Harmon (sometimes Greystone) 7 days a week. On a base 30-minute headway on weekdays, augmented at rush hours, and a base hourly headway on weekends. The last trains of the night have guaranteed connections to and from diesel trains to Poughkeepsie, and service is available as late as 1 to 2am and as early as 5 to 6 am. Coming here during rush hour has been a goal of mine ever since I last really filmed here in December 2021. Last time I really spent time here was a midday and while I caught some rare catches like work equipment, I knew I wanted to catch that full-blown rush hour action, and it finally came to pass on this impromptu trip I took. My most recent visit was in December 2023, and I don't recall getting much of any footage then. Sadly, much like my 2021 video, this one also ends with a dedication to a recently deceased member of the New York transit fan crew. Adam Southerland, a.k.a ‪@csouth28‬ was a good friend and a fellow transit YouTuber. He had an infamously sharp wit and was a good guy that was an accomplished transport photographer.
