"The Standard Cosmological Model: Between Success and Tensions": the next lecture in the IAP's monthly public lecture series will take place on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 7:30 p.m., and will be given by Jean-Philippe Uzan (IAP). 50-minute presentation, followed by a Q&A session in the chat:    • « LE MODÈLE COSMOLOGIQUE STANDARD ENTRE SU...   Thanks to general relativity (1915) and the advent of extragalactic observation (1924), cosmology was able to paint a new picture of the Universe. Despite a century of success, this masterful edifice is now being challenged by tensions, flaws, and explanatory limitations that could lead to a major shift in the Standard Model. This presentation will review this century of astrophysics, recalling the hypotheses and major milestones in the development of our cosmological model. He will emphasize the difference between precision cosmology and a cosmology of accuracy, and will speculate on some possible evolutions and mutations.
