Richard Raffan cuts ironbark sawmill waste into woodturning blanks
You see how I go about cutting woodturning blanks from a lump of red ironbark discarded by a sawmill as too full of defects. There are borer holes, and at around 9:21 just after I push a second block to my left you see a long white worm emerging from the bottom of the block. I wasn't aware of it then. It's pinned by an offcut at about 11:41 and swept into the firewood seven seconds later. The larger block is now the charred pot in • Richard Raffan turns and burns an ironbark... so any relatives were probably incinerated.
