Richard Raffan turns a large pawn on a small lathe for the 11th. 4-Ways project.

The 28 kg (62lbs) blank has my small lathe vibrating somewhat, so you see how I cope with that and the problems arising. Getting such a large blank on the lathe is a challenge and you see a monumental catch. This is the 11th. 4-Ways project. 4-WAYS comprises Sam Angelo, Mike Peace, myself, and Tomislav Tomašić who suggested that having four turners publish their approach to one project at the same time should be interesting. 4-Ways publish after noon on the first of each month, US time, which is evening in Europe.
