Series 4 episode 3: The construction of the railway line diverts Ratty’s beloved river, and floods the field mice from their homes. After three dry days, he returns to find that the river has completely disappeared! Further bad news follows, when it is discovered that the field mice, who live in Toad’s old caravan some distance away, have been flooded out by the same river, and they have to move into Toad hall –much to Toad’s discomfort. Otter eventually brings good news. He has discovered that the railway company has temporarily diverted the river, and that they can build a bridge across it, and once their work is finished, they will all the river to resume its normal course. It seems that things will soon return to normal, but Badger is more than a little concerned about the imminent arrival of the railway line.
