Film Overview Production: Eiga-sha (British Film Company) Planning: Shizuoka Prefecture 1959, Black and White, 26 minutes Repeated wind and flood disasters, fires becoming commonplace. The sorrow of wooden houses. These disasters are causing Japanese cities to lose lives and wealth day by day. This film speaks to the general public's perception of wooden architecture, helps them understand the relationship between their homes and the city, the conditions that modern cities must meet, and interestingly discusses urban redevelopment toward an ideal "home."
