Kwa-Thema residents without electricity for nearly two weeks
The City of Ekurhuleni is likely to miss yet another deadline to restore power to the community of Kwa Thema. Angry residents took to the streets to express their frustration after being in the dark for nearly two weeks. They accuse officials of dragging their feet to restore power to the township which lost a substation when it caught fire earlier this month. While 30 percent of the township has since had power restored through an unused transformer, majority of the community is without electricity.
