The Meteorological Centre has issued a strict Red Alert for the next 48 hours, predicting catastrophic rainfall exceeding 200 mm in southern and interior districts, including Kalahandi, Koraput, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Angul, and Sambalpur. Weather scientists predict the rain will persist through July 10 as the system advances northwest.
