It opens gorgeously in the C Lydian mode (C-D-E-F#-G-A-B-C), alternating C major and D major chords on top of a pedal C while a panflute plays through a fragile melody. At 0:39, we move to a new section with the oboe taking on the lead role. Here, we remain in C Lydian (noted by the F#'s) as we progress through a lovely phrase of C - D - Bm - C. This section ends with a suggested modulation into the submediant key of G major (noted by the conclusion in D major at 0:55, the dominant of G). However, this proves to be false as an interrupted cadence takes place as we modulate instead into the relative of E minor. The emotional climax of the track then ensues in all its glory. I struggled quite a bit with arranging this one; I couldn't quite decide on an instrument to take on the warm synthesizer that plays accompanying echoed notes. Ultimately, I decided on using two vibraphones to get a more shimmering timbre as opposed to warmth. While this does not sustain as well as the synthesizers, I hope you agree it is effective! Further, the addition of the ad lib. choir was a late one, but without it the arrangement felt notably empty. Adding a subtle choir backing fleshed out the entire arrangement, adding a gentle peaceful quality - fitting for the track that follows immediately after the final lighthouse is lit. -------------------- The score was created in Sibelius 7.5, and the audio was created in Cubase using sample libraries from EastWest, Vienna Symphonic and Orchestral Tools. ★Game: Golden Sun ★Developer: Camelot Software Planning ★Publisher: Nintendo ★Composer(s): Motoi Sakuraba ★Software: Sibelius 7.5, Cubase Elements 7, Cubase 10, Adobe Premiere Elements 15, EastWest Sample Libraries, Vienna Symphonic Library, Orchestral Tools ★Tags: Golden Sun, Golden, Sun, The Lost Age, Golden Sun The Lost Age, TLA, GS, Golden Sun Orchestra, Golden Sun Cover, Golden Sun Remix, Golden Sun Arrangement, Imil, Mia, Wintery Imil #GoldenSun #Orchestra #TheLostAge
