POL-KLE: Bedburg-Hau - Three dead after traffic accident - Car collides with a tree Bedburg-Hau (ots) - On Saturday (September 13, 2025), at approximately 8:25 p.m., a serious traffic accident occurred on Triftstraße in Bedburg-Hau. After overtaking, a car, for reasons still unknown, veered off the roadway to the right while rejoining and collided with a tree. The car sustained severe damage in the impact and caught fire. The driver (a 28-year-old man from Kleve) died in the car. The two other occupants of the car (a 49-year-old man from Kleve and a 15-year-old youth from Kleve) were ejected from the car and also died at the scene. An accident investigation team from Essen was called in to investigate the accident. Triftstrasse was completely closed until approximately 3:45 a.m. while the accident was being investigated. The relatives of the deceased were notified by the Kleve Police Victim Protection Unit and assisted by an emergency chaplain. FW-KLE: Traffic accident with three fatalities in Bedburg-Hau Bedburg-Hau (ots) - On Saturday evening (September 13, 2025), the Bedburg-Hau Volunteer Fire Department and the Kleve District Emergency Services were alerted to Triftstrasse in Hau at 8:28 p.m. with the incident code "traffic accident, person trapped, car on fire." Upon arrival, firefighters found a car, which had previously crashed into a tree, fully engulfed in flames. One person was still trapped inside the vehicle, and two others were found lying nearby. Emergency personnel wearing heavy breathing apparatus immediately initiated extinguishing measures using a rapid attack hose. The fire was quickly brought under control and extinguished. However, the vehicle burned completely. Despite rapid intervention, the emergency medical technicians could only pronounce all three people dead. For safety reasons, a drone was subsequently deployed to search the area for other possible accident victims. However, the search yielded no indication of anyone else involved. During the subsequent operation, the fire department secured the accident scene and extensively illuminated it for the police investigation. In addition, the deployed personnel were supported by a PSU (psychosocial support) team. Municipal Fire Inspector Tobias Aschemann was in charge of the operation.
