This took months. People still think it’s AI

AI is never part of my artistic practice. I find myself having to say that a lot more these days in a world where artists’ work is constantly taken and used to train AI. For me, it comes down to the integrity of the process. I want to tell my stories through my own hands, my emotions, and the skills I’ve spent years learning. Real props. Real animals. Real light. Real tools. If anything, I believe process matters more than ever now. Taking time over something. Not sacrificing learning for speed. Not skipping the middle bit, the struggle that shapes the work and understanding. People are often surprised when I say don’t use it. But I don’t because I think there is an incredible value to process. With a background in oil painting and sculpture, it’s important to me that my work first exists in the physical world. Real props, real animals, practical lighting and tools.
