COPECO authorities in the northwestern region reported that support and assessment efforts continue in San Pedro Sula following the heavy rains of the past few hours, which left streets flooded, vehicles damaged, and widespread damage in various parts of the city. Emergency teams were deployed to provide assistance and carry out cleanup work alongside the Municipal Emergency Committee. COPECO Deputy Commissioner, Engineer Alex, explained that although no loss of life was reported, there was property damage, downed trees, flooding in homes, and overflows in vulnerable areas such as the upper Merendón mountain range. He also noted that debris and trash contribute to the collapse of drainage systems during heavy rains.
