Ambrogio Beccaria, a solo sailor from Milan, tells us how his passion for sailing, his love of competition, and the courage to be himself guided his choice to face the wildest nature in pursuit of happiness. Thirty-year-old nautical engineer, Ambrogio Beccaria was born and raised in Milan. After various experiences in crews and double-handed sailing, in 2013 he salvaged a wrecked boat, which began his solo sailing career. The first Italian in the history of sailing to win the Mini-Transat, he received the "Sailor of the Year" award in 2018 and 2019, and in the same year he won the Ambrogino d'Oro.
